Reiki is a Japanese healing art, rediscovered by Dr. Usui two hundred years ago. It’s most familiar as a hands-on treatment for pretty much anything. It’s not attached to any religion but is seen as a partly spiritual practise. Once you have learnt it, it will never go away and you can decide to use it whenever you wish. Reiki means Universal Life Force Energy. It’s not your energy you are using so you will actually feel better after treating someone else!
Reiki I
I think everyone should have Reiki I, it seems totally invaluable to me! This level is for self healing. You will be taught over one day which includes meditation, self-discovery, the history and ethics of Reiki, hand positions, a bit about chakras and auras, attunements …oh, and lunch! Many of my students tell me that Reiki I is life changing and go on to explore the other levels. A manual and certificate will be provided.
Reiki II
After Reiki I you can go on to do the next level which empowers you to use Reiki for healing others as well as yourself. If you’re hoping to be a practitioner, this qualification will allow you to join a recognised body and purchase insurance.
You will be taught in one relaxing day where you will learn the symbols and their uses, how to treat others with Reiki – on the couch or over distance - codes of practise, using intuition, viewing auras and briefly revisiting Reiki I. A manual, certificate and sustenance will be provided.
Reiki III
The master/teacher attunement can only be given to those with Reiki I & II. I suggest leaving a year between II and III as it is such a big personal step. The master bit gives you greater access to Reiki energy, increasing the power of your treatments with the fourth symbol.
The teacher element is not compulsory, but essential if you wish to attune others. You will learn how to communicate information, give attunements, produce a manual and provide ongoing guidance and a community for your students.
Level III master/teacher is very individual and learning will encompass those areas of particular need to the student. And lunch. The course is taught over two days or equivalent evenings. You will go away with a Blankety Blank manual and certificate.
This relaxed three hour class is for Reiki II and III graduates who wish to practise professionally - as Reiki Teachers and/or Reiki Healers. Topics of the session include:
* Professional associations
* Insurance
* Code of Ethics and Professional Practise
* Finding a treatment room
